Financial Literacy Boosts “Out of FOCUS”

The inauguration of the FOCUS students’ T-shirt printing project at Lindsay Place High School (LPHS) received a boost from an in-house brainstorming session with Brian Smith of the Canadian Federation for Economic Education (CFEE) which runs the financial literacy program: “Talk With Our Kids About Money.”

ChatterHigh Seeking Canada’s Most Informed School

ChatterHigh is back this fall with a remodelled website, a new “class challenge” feature, and its second national post-secondary and career exploration competition called “Canada’s Most Informed School.” Beaconsfield High School teacher Jesse Hayes says, “ChatterHigh creates a win-win situation for both educators and students.”

Multiculturalism, a Mural, Self-knowledge, and Teamwork

With an environment steeped in 32 different cultures, L.I.N.K.S. High School in the English Montreal School Board stands out. Multiculturalism now shouts out from a floor-to-ceiling mural depicting the island of Montreal bordered by 32 flags representing the cultures of the school’s students and staff. Working on the mural was a self-learning and teamwork experience.

Canada’s Most Informed Student Contest

Round one of ChatterHigh’s “most informed” contest begins on April 11, 2016. The on-line contest is open to all Secondary Cycle 2 students. The round two finals run October 17 to 25. The top students will receive scholarships.
