Welcome to ShiftED first Vodcast! We decided that we needed to change the format for this episode because we wanted to show off some cool toy ideas for our youngest learners. We invited early childhood expert Cindy Hovington to come and chat with us about what makes good toys to help develop our preschoolers. It was an enlightened chat about how the simplest toys make the greatest impact on childhood development. Often times, it is not the fancy, glowing buttons, noise makers that are of interest, rather the box that it came in! Open-ended toys cultivate imagination and creativity, two things all humans must develop in an ever changing world. Key take away, keep it simple and cheap.
